Especially with young dancers and their super fine hair and sensitive heads. Below are some instructions to help you create the perfect bun every time.
Supplies needed:
- Fine Tooth Comb
- Pack of Bobby Pins ( You can never have enough)
- Thick Elastic Hair Bands
- Hair Gel
- Hair Net (must match hair color)
The first thing you need to do when making a ballet and jazz bun is to make sure the hair is brushed out, with little to no tangles in it. The next step is to use your fine tooth comb to brush the hair back into a pony tail. You want to measure in between the eyes and ears straight back to find the right placement. Then, you add a quarter size amount of gel in to the palm of your hand and smooth it over the hair so create a sleek look. You can use your comb to ensure the hair is neatly groomed back.
Next you want to twist the hair so it begins to go around like a cinnamon bun. If the dancer has super thick hair, you will want to divide the hair in two sections. Starting at the base of the twist you will secure the hair to the head with bobby pins that will continue around the bun as you wrap it around the ponytail. You can never use enough bobby pins. You are almost done! The final step is to wrap the hair net around the bun and tuck any parts in that may stick out or show. Adding a barrette or flower can make your bun stand out. The most important thing is to make sure it is secure, there is nothing more distracting when dancing than your bun falling out mid turn.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column border_color=”” visibility=”” width=”1/2″][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eyIa9XbbFs&vq=1080″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
